The Thompson's Est. 12/20/2003

This is the site of Jennifer and Keith Thompson. Their romance began their Junior Year of high school (1993)and ended up in marriage on December 20, 2003. Throughout their 10 year (OMG! 10 years?!?!?) courtship, they grew apart, and then together, and then apart and then (oh, well you get the drift)…… but in the end, a wonderful romantic friendship turned into a strong partnership that they both believed, would stand the test of time. And then....came Avery Grace :)

Avery at 6 months

I know! I know! I am a blogger slacker :( I'm sorry guys. Been busy with work and mommyhood. It's no excuse but I definitely am feeling like I don't have time to breathe, much less time to blog.

Avery is doing well. She's 6 months old now (I know, I can't believe it either). Some milestones-- she began eating rice cereal at 5 months and is up to oatmeal, peas, bananas, sweet potatoes and carrots. At first, the eating with a spoon (vs. sucking in all nutrition through a bottle) wasn't going so well, but now.....I honestly have no idea where she puts it all. She is an eating machine! She can now roll over front to back, AND back to front. She enjoys the "so big" game as well as patty cake. Avery's laugh is the most gorgeous thing I have ever heard. She doesn't just do the "hee hee" type of laugh now guys, she sounds like ME when I laugh. It is hysterical. She's almost sitting up on her own now. She's still a little wobbly, but sometimes she'll sit on her own, realize she's doing it and then topple over. It's like she isn't sure of herself yet. She enjoys sucking on both of her feet at the same time......and she absolutely LOVES her exersaucer and jumperoo. They are seriously the best investments EVER!
Her favorite books right now are "Goodnight Moon" (she LOVES the way mommy makes all the OOOOOOH sounds when she reads it), "The Foot Book" by Dr. Seuss, and "One Fish, Two Fish". We read them every night, and honestly......I could recite them right now if needed :)

All in all, the Thompson household is settling in. Although 6 months have already FLOWN by, it seems like you are never 100% settled......just MORE settled. Keith and I are enjoying getting to know our daughter, and especially the way our daughter is getting to know (and recognize) us. Parenting is hard work, but I wouldn't trade it for all the Snickers bars in the world (I'm on a low carb diet, and that seems so much better than money right now.....).

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone! Squeeze, hug and kiss the one you love today.
