Avery celebrated her
VERY FIRST birthday on August 19th, from 12noon to 2pm! A fun day was had by all at Black Creek Park. Mommy took some time that day to notice how very lucky Avery is to have such loving family and friends. Avery had fun playing with all the kids (15 to be exact!) and smooshing her fingers (and her tongue) in her yummy cake! I could go on and on, as mommy had a GREAT time too! But.....I'll let the photos tell the story :) I got all sappy in my last e-mail, but I will just add......Being a mom is truly a blessing from God. My daughter is AWESOME and I just love spending time with her, exploring her world for the first time. Keith is the best daddy Avery could have ever hoped for, and they are buddies for LIFE! Having a newborn was a totally different ballgame. Now that my little TODDLER has emerged.....it's just so much FUN! (still hard, but in a fun way......does that make sense?). Avery and I just "get" each other now. We can communicate, without using words. It's really such a special feeling.
As I'm not keeping a "baby book" I'll note some milestones.....
Weight- 23 lbs!!! (ummm.......4 lb. preemie, what!?!?!?!?!)
Height- 28 in. (a shorty like her mommy and daddy)
Favorite Foods- Bananas, Ravioli, Meatball, Peas, Hot Dogs, Cheese
First Words (in this order)- DaDa, DOWN, Done, MaMa, NaNa (Banana)
Tricks- SOOOOOOO Big, "Sniff the flowers", Open Mouthed kisses, Can point to other people's "nose, ears, teeth", LOVES to "read" picture books and "count" by pointing at each object......ALMOST walking. Not quite there yet. Taking 1-2 steps on her own, then toppling over. Can walk with one hand assist.
